Security Standards Policy & Planning Committee 

 

Chair: Michael Burns, General Manager, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority

The purpose of the Committee is to oversee and coordinate the activities within APTA and the public transportation industry for the development of security focused standards to: promote security within the infrastructures, delivery of services and the workplaces of public transportation; address security needs within the operations, procedures and related technologies; incorporate measures that are practical and cost-effective within public transportation operations; and, support the efforts of other  Standards Development Organizations in the development of public transportation security-specific standards. This committee acts under the oversight and guidance of the APTA Standards Development and Oversight Council (SDOC).
