Safety Standards

At this time the standards or recommended practices being developed by this working group are focused on fire safety from both maintenance practice recommendations as well as performance specifications related to vehicles systems related to fire detection, fire suppression or fire mitigation.  The group is also looking at operational practices relating to fire investigation.

• Questionnaire regarding transit fire incidents – Final Draft  approved
• Accident Investigation Form for Fire Investigations – final draft for WG Comment
• Recommended Practice for Installation of Transit Vehicle Fire Protection Systems – Final revision

This group will also review maintenance practices related to reduction of fires, specifications which mitigate fire incidents or fire damage, and other operating practices related to fire investigation.
